Bring Dori and Nahomie Home!

6 08 2014

Friends, I have a serious post for today. My good friend and college roommate Michelle and her husband Luke, are in the process of adopting two beautiful girls from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).  They have always felt called to adopt, and through a series of events, God called them to adopt from DRC. They began their adoption process in January of 2013 and now are legally the parents of two adorable children. However, the country has suspended giving exit letters to allow these legally adopted children be united with their forever families. It is unclear when the suspension will be lifted. For now, the girls are living in foster care until they can come home to Michelle and Luke.

One of the girls, Dori, has had several health problems in the past couple months and really needs medical treatment in the U.S. Luke is actually headed over to the DRC this week to meet the girls for the first time and take Dori to some much needed medical appointments.

My friend Adrianne has organized a fundraiser to help cover some of the monthly foster fees, medical care for Dori, travel expenses, and donations for the girls’ orphanage. If you feel so inclined, please check out the fundraising page. Every little bit helps. Thank you in advance!
