Is It Really September?

2 09 2011

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for your thoughts on my dilemma. I’m still on the fence, but I’ve planted a seed in the heads of some of my girlfriends ūüėČ

Is anyone else in shock that it is September? Where did the summer go? It’s hard to believe that the “official” summer’s end is this weekend. Sad face.

Lauren’s sad about her dough. I’m sad about summer ending.

Since I’ve stopped teaching (and being a student for that matter) summers haven’t meant “vacation” for me. I don’t get three months of freedom, just a modified work schedule and plenty of time inside the good ol’ AC in front of a computer. Man, I miss summer break…and getting paid to do this:

Despite working a “regular” 9-5 job, I was still able to get out and enjoy my summer. In fact, it was pretty fantabulous!

In case you missed it, here’s some of my highlights!

*I raced in 4 (soon to be 5) triathlons.

You can read about them here, here, here, and here.

*I made new friends in the blogging world-at brunch, a baseball game, and for bebidas (sorry, tried to go with the alliteration here!)

*I saw Bill Cosby live!

*I survived an earthquake and a hurricane.

*I ate plenty of amazing food at Eating Club in May, June, and July.

*I floated down a river with 50 new friends!

*I flew to Orlando a few times to pretend I was an aerialist, chase dolphins, and bounce on trampolines like a 12 year old. Oh, and to hang out with this guy too. ūüôā

*I cheered on Chloe at her 1/2 marathon and was there in spirit for her 1/2 Ironman!

*I supported local agriculture by joining a CSA…and made some pretty tasty meals too!

And,

*I whipped my tail into shape with some rockin’ workouts:

Whew! That was a lot! Is it too early to start planning next summer?

Question of the day: What was your favorite thing you did this summer?
