Blogger Brunch!

3 05 2011

It was just a year ago that I (Chloe) went out to dinner with a friend and watched as a girl sitting at a table next to me took pictures of each plate of food as they were brought to her table. I remember being  fascinated and very curious, and also thinking that it was a bit odd. Little did I know that in just one year, I would become yet another food blogger who carries her camera in and out of restaurants, hoping to sit at a table with “good light” and not letting my friends and family take a bite before I snap a shot. I have definitely gotten my fair share of odd looks when taking pictures at restaurants, but this past Sunday I wasn’t alone πŸ™‚

Since starting 321delish, Steph and I have been overwhelmed with how welcoming the blogging community has been. We had no idea a) how many foodie/triathlon blogs there were out there! and b) that there were so many bloggers in the D.C./VA area! We have gotten to know a few local foodie/triathlon bloggers over the past few months and thought that it would be fun to get together in person, so we organized a little blogger brunch πŸ™‚ Steph and I met up with Beth from Dining and Dishing and Erin from Until You Tri.  We chose Lyon Hall, an amazingly delicious brasserie in Clarendon VA. We splurged and started off with a fresh pot of french pressed coffee.

Steph had Hungarian Lamb Sausage with 3 eggs over easy and a side of arugula salad.

I went with the smoked salmon plate, which included egg salad made with creme fresh, smoked salmon, capers and slices of toasted baguette.

I absolutely love smoked salmon but don’t get to eat it very often. I REALLY enjoyed this dish!

I have to say, it was a bit odd meeting a group of girls that I had only spoken to via the internet! But we had a blast and got along so well. I don’t know why I am surprised. Foodies get along with Foodies πŸ™‚ I am already looking forward to meeting up for the next blogger get together. If you are a foodie/triathlon blogger in the D.C./VA/Md area and want to get together, let us know!

Question of the Day: Are you a Sunday breakfast or brunch type of girl/guy?!

This looks like so much fun! I miss DC sometimes. I’m a total weekend brunch girl, both Saturday AND Sunday. I swear I wouldn’t do long runs if I didn’t know there was french toast on the other end!

Yay! I had so much fun with you ladies. It was odd going there not knowing anyone, but once I got there I was completely comfortable. I was amazed how easy it was to talk to everyone (although I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised, considering we all have at least a few VERY important things in our lives in common;).

And I totally appreciated not feeling out of place when I wanted to take pics of my food:) My brunch post is coming today…I am so behind on life because it is finals week at my grad school, bleh!!
